Giant Step / De Ole Folks at Home

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Giant Step / De Ole Folks at Home' is a double album that contrasts electric blues-rock material with acoustic interpretations of older American folk and blues forms. Taj Mahal used the project to situate contemporary blues within a broader vernacular tradition rather than a narrow revivalist frame. The album's two-part structure highlights both his bandleading and his historical curiosity.
