Album Notes & Community Reviews
On their highly successful sophomore album, Talk Talk began shifting away from standard new wave toward a much more sophisticated, intricately arranged art-pop sound. Mark Hollis's passionate, deeply melancholic vocals soar over lush synthesizer pads, fretless basslines, and highly rhythmic, atmospheric percussion. 'It's My Life' is a remarkably melodic, bittersweet, and commercial peak for the evolving British group.
