Lee Harris

Lee Harris

Lee Harris is an English drummer whose work provided the rhythmic foundation for the band Talk Talk, which he co-founded in 1981. [1] His playing evolved from the precise, metronomic beats of the group's early synth-pop into a spacious, textural, and jazz-inflected style that was pivotal in defining the post-rock genre on the albums *Spirit of Eden* and *Laughing Stock*. [1, 16] After Talk Talk disbanded, he continued his experimental trajectory with Paul Webb in the project .O.rang, merging dub, Krautrock, and improvisation. [6] A sought-after collaborator, Harris’s subtle and dynamic percussion has supported artists such as Bark Psychosis and Beth Gibbons, cementing his status as a drummer of understated but significant influence.
