Rubycon

'Rubycon' further develops the Berlin School sequencer-based sound through two side-long instrumental suites that define the band's classic era. The trio of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, and Peter Baumann construct dense, atmospheric soundscapes using layered Moog synthesizers, Mellotron choirs, and processed instruments like prepared piano, creating a dynamic journey that shifts between ambient washes and taut, rhythmic passages. By refining the techniques introduced on 'Phaedra', the album uses its largely improvised structure and dissonant textures to create a haunting and influential work of progressive electronic music.
