Although it didn't achieve the massive commercial glory of peers like The Clash, The Adverts' debut is widely considered one of the most vital, intelligent albums of the 1977 UK punk explosion. Driven by T.V. Smith's fiercely conscious, highly sarcastic lyricism, the record delivers an incredibly raw, remarkably melodic, and deeply rebellious burst of urban energy.
