Album Notes & Community Reviews

Relocating from Australia to London, The Birthday Party unleashed an incredibly raw, violently unhinged collision of post-punk dissonance and mutant blues. Driven by Nick Cave's terrifyingly manic, theatrical wails and Rowland S. Howard's jagged guitar noise, 'Prayers on Fire' is a fiercely aggressive, highly disturbing avant-garde spectacle of misanthropic fury.
