Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in Greenwich Village, this debut album documents one of America's earliest and most vital electric blues-rock ensembles. Featuring the virtuosic keyboard work of Al Kooper and the aggressive guitar interplay of Danny Kalb, the group supercharges traditional folk and blues standards with a loud, sprawling psychedelic energy that heavily influenced the imminent San Francisco jam band scene.
