Produced by Alex Chilton, The Cramps' debut album essentially created the psychobilly genre by aggressively mutating 1950s rockabilly with New York punk grit. 'Songs the Lord Taught Us' is a wonderfully playful, incredibly raw celebration of trashy B-movie aesthetics, dripping with highly energetic, sexually charged, and wonderfully nocturnal garage-rock fuzz.
