Biography
The Cramps were an American garage punk band formed in New York City in 1976 by Lux Interior and Poison Ivy. Fusing punk, rockabilly and horror imagery, and playing for years with two guitars and no bassist, they pioneered psychobilly across eight studio albums from 'Songs the Lord Taught Us' in 1980 to 'Fiends of Dope Island' in 2003. Long-serving members included drummer Nick Knox, bassist Slim Chance and drummer Harry Drumdini. The band ended with Lux Interior's death in February 2009.
