Album Notes & Community Reviews

Mocking the severe, self-serious nature of the 1980s hardcore scene, The Dead Milkmen delivered a wildly energetic, brilliantly immature punk rock debut. The album relies on incredibly fast, sloppy surf-punk arrangements to support highly satirical, deeply sarcastic lyrics about conspiracy theories and suburban boredom. 'Big Lizard in My Backyard' is a remarkably playful, humorous, and enduring cult classic of American comedy rock.
