Album Notes & Community Reviews

A dizzying blend of live recordings from Hollywood alongside heavy studio overdubs, this album features what many consider Frank Zappa's most devastatingly talented lineup. Highlights include staggeringly complex, multi-part instrumental workouts like 'Echidna's Arf (Of You)' that effortlessly blend tightly scripted progressive jazz-fusion with deeply sarcastic humor. The recording perfectly crystallizes the demanding, hyper-technical compositional peak of his mid-70s output.
