Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded with microphones pushed past their limits to intentionally capture distortion, the Sonics' sophomore album relies on a stripped-down drum kit and heavily overdriven guitar riffs. Gerry Roslie's screaming vocals and the abrasive saxophone parts push mid-60s rock and roll toward a harsher, proto-punk aesthetic.
