Album Notes & Community Reviews
Produced by Elvis Costello, the debut album from Jerry Dammers and The Specials completely launched the 2 Tone ska revival into the British mainstream. It is a remarkably energetic, fiercely rhythmic masterclass in danceable rocksteady, laced with deeply anxious, highly conscious political lyricism reflecting the grim reality of late-70s urban decay.
