Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally commissioned as the soundtrack for a Boston-based children's television program, this ensemble wildly reinterpreted Hoagy Carmichael classics into a ferocious fuzz-jazz nightmare. Executive produced by Ahmad Jamal, the sessions feature mind-bending vibraphone solos and intensely heavily distorted guitars over relentless funk breakbeats. Long languishing in obscurity, it was famously rediscovered and heavily sampled by the hip-hop elite decades later.
