Album Notes & Community Reviews

Offering a sarcastic and highly energetic counterpoint to the aggressive, political Southern California hardcore scene, the band's debut album is steeped in juvenile humor and fast tempos[cite: 1]. 'When in Rome Do as the Vandals' combines sloppy but effective skate punk riffs with bizarre conceptual jokes and mock-country interludes. The record helped lay the foundational aesthetic for the massive 1990s pop-punk explosion.
