Radio Amor

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tim Hecker's 'Radio Amor' builds its aquatic, ambient soundscapes from heavily processed melodic fragments, static, and digitally manipulated piano. The album's conceptual framework, inspired by shortwave radio transmissions and the lives of Caribbean fishermen, results in a work often described as both cold and operatic in scope. Hecker sculpts these electronic textures with a compositional focus that transforms glitch and distortion into a distinctive and immersive sonic environment that was critically lauded upon its release.
