Emmaar

Forced out of their native Mali due to severe political instability and armed conflict, the legendary Tuareg musicians temporarily relocated to the deserts of Joshua Tree, California. The resulting recording sessions powerfully synthesize their traditional Saharan blues with elements of dusty, American psychedelia, featuring contributions from members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The stark, hypnotic grooves brilliantly reflect themes of exile and deep homesickness.
