Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Hamburg-based trio exploded onto the German indie scene with a remarkably raw, intensely energetic fusion of lo-fi noise pop and slacker rock aesthetics. Dirk von Lowtzow's fiercely intelligent, highly cynical German lyricism rails against bourgeois complacency and music industry commercialism over sloppy, incredibly catchy guitar hooks. The highly influential debut effectively kickstarted the Hamburger Schule movement, defining the attitude of 1990s German alternative rock.
