Album Notes & Community Reviews
Stripping away their previously dominant symphonic excesses, 'Ashes' focuses entirely on a sombre, aggressive approach to gothic metal. The record leans heavily into melancholic death/doom dynamics and misanthropic themes reminiscent of extreme metal. It signifies a profound, heavy stylistic rebirth for the group, emphasizing stark melodic contrasts over pure orchestration.
