Biography
Norwegian gothic metal band from Stavanger, active from 1996 to 2022. Tristania built its reputation on 'Widow's Weeds' and 'Beyond the Veil', layering soprano, clean and harsh vocals over symphonic death doom. Founder Morten Veland left in 2000 and soprano Vibeke Stene in 2007, but a line-up centred on Einar Moen and Anders H酶yvik Hidle, later fronted by Mariangela Demurtas, carried the band through 'Rubicon' and 'Darkest White' before its 2022 disbandment.
