Album Notes & Community Reviews

The monumental debut from the Norwegian outfit established the fundamental operatic blueprint for a generation of European gothic metal acts. The record masterfully contrasts crushing doom-metal growls with Vibeke Stene's angelic, classically trained soprano, all heavily enveloped in sweeping, deeply melancholic choral arrangements.
