Father of the Bride

Marking the band's first album in six years, 'Father of the Bride' is an expansive and eclectic double album that shifts the group's sound toward a brighter, looser feel, incorporating influences from country, jam bands, and R&B. Primarily produced by Ariel Rechtshaid and Ezra Koenig, the record’s warm, spring-like arrangements and prominent duets with Danielle Haim create a stark contrast with Koenig's direct and weighty lyrical themes of romantic disillusionment, existential dread, and political uncertainty. As the band's first project on a major label and since the official departure of Rostam Batmanglij, the album was a commercial and critical success, earning a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
