Runaljod - Ragnarok

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Runaljod - Ragnarok' serves as the cinematic conclusion to a trilogy interpreting the Elder Futhark runes, presenting a more dynamic and focused sound than its predecessors. The album is built upon layers of hypnotic chants and mesmerizing choral mantras from vocalists Einar Selvik and Lindy-Fay Hella, set against a backdrop of primitive rhythmic pulses. The production creates an immersive atmosphere by blending traditional Nordic instruments like goat horns, tagelharpe, and bronze lures with field recordings of natural elements like ice and water.
