Biography
Wardruna is a Norwegian folk project founded in Bergen in 2003 by multi-instrumentalist Einar Selvik. Using historical Nordic instruments and texts in Old Norse and Proto-Norse, Wardruna's 'Runaljod' trilogy, 'Gap Var Ginnunga', 'Yggdrasil' and 'Ragnarok', set the 24 runes of the elder futhark to music. Singer Lindy-Fay Hella is Selvik's principal collaborator, and later albums include the acoustic 'Skald', the chart-topping 'Kvitravn' and 'Birna'. The project tours worldwide with an expanded live band.
