Initially a commercial and critical disappointment, 'Pinkerton' has since been celebrated as Weezer's raw and brutally honest masterpiece. Moving away from the polished sound of their debut, the album features a darker, more abrasive, and emotionally vulnerable tone, with Rivers Cuomo's lyrics exploring his disillusionment with fame, loneliness, and romantic frustrations in a strikingly personal way.
