Vivian & Ondine

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised of a single, sprawling 45-minute composition, this release finds the celebrated avant-garde composer retreating to a deeply meditative, oceanic atmosphere. Built from heavily degraded, cyclical analog tape loops of what sounds like distant orchestral warmth, the piece explores themes of cyclical water and memory. It is a prime example of his unparalleled ability to extract profound, mesmerizing emotion from decaying audio artifacts.
