Album Notes & Community Reviews

The veteran double bassist leads a highly dynamic, purely acoustic trio featuring Hamid Drake on drums and Daniel Carter on reeds. 'Painter's Spring' presents an unusually accessible approach to free jazz, anchored by Parker's relentlessly swinging, melodic basslines. The deeply empathetic improvisations balance moments of fiery avant-garde exploration with profound rhythmic joy.
