Album Notes & Community Reviews

The formidable double bassist anchors an incredibly dynamic string-led trio, providing a deeply rhythmic foundation for violinist Billy Bang's fiery, blues-inflected improvisations. The recording captures an intense, highly communicative live energy, effortlessly shifting between free-form chaotic blowing and deeply swinging, melodic themes. It stands as a vibrant testament to the enduring vitality of the New York free jazz tradition.
