Album Notes & Community Reviews

Often cited as one of Xiu Xiu's most direct and 'pop' oriented albums, 'FORGET' channels the band's characteristic turmoil into more structured, synth-driven compositions. The production, helmed by John Congleton and Greg Saunier, balances industrial textures and moments of chaotic noise with anthemic, albeit distorted, electro-pop hooks. Lyrically, Jamie Stewart's songwriting remains intensely personal and bleak, exploring themes of abuse, self-hatred, and fragility, creating a stark contrast between the often catchy musical arrangements and their harrowing subject matter.
