Biography

American art punk and lo fi band formed in Uniontown, Maryland, in 1974 by brothers Jad and David Fair. Half Japanese turned deliberate amateurism, untuned guitars and Jad Fair's love songs and monster songs into a blueprint for DIY music, influencing generations of underground bands, among them fans such as *Kurt Cobain*, who invited the band to open for *Nirvana*. After a long recording pause, the band returned in 2014 and continues around Jad Fair with a stable line-up on #Fire Records#.
