Biography
Alio Die is the alias of Stefano Musso, a Milan-born Italian ambient composer and producer active since 1989. Through his label #Hic Sunt Leones# and releases such as 'Under an Holy Ritual', he developed an organic ambient style in which acoustic instruments, samples and echoing percussion are stretched into slow, atmospheric soundscapes tied to nature and ritual. With more than fifty albums and collaborations with figures such as *Robert Rich* and *Vidna Obmana*, Alio Die is regarded as a pioneer of organic ambient music, his compositions often built from one continuous tone in the spirit of Indian raga.
