Biography
Brazilian producer, born in Montreal and raised in Brazil, who builds intricate electronic compositions from samples and found sound. On #Ninja Tune# he released 'Bricolage' (1997), 'Supermodified' (2000) and 'ISAM' (2011), and he scored the video game 'Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory' (2005). He also records beat-driven music as Two Fingers. Tobin's records, dense with chopped jazz breaks and foley textures, treat the sampler as a compositional instrument, and his audiovisual live shows are noted for their elaborate projection-mapped staging.
