Andy Ramsay

Andy Ramsay

Andy Ramsay is a British drummer and sound engineer recognized for his long-standing role in the avant-pop band Stereolab, which he joined in 1992. [3, 9] His drumming provided a foundational element to the group's sound, adeptly navigating both the persistent, motorik-influenced grooves of their early post-rock phase and the increasingly complex, jazz-inflected rhythms of their later work. [5, 17] Remaining with the band through its stylistic shifts, his contributions were integral to their distinctive rhythmic architecture. [17, 13] In his post-Stereolab career, Ramsay established Press Play Studios in London, continuing his work in sound as a producer and engineer for other artists. [2, 4]
