Biography
Tim Gane is an English guitarist, songwriter, and producer, best known as the co-founder and primary musical architect of the influential avant-pop band Stereolab. Forming in London in 1990 with vocalist *L忙titia Sadier*, Gane guided the group's signature sound, a distinctive blend of krautrock's motorik rhythms, vintage electronic textures, lounge-pop melodies, and jazz influences. Prior to Stereolab, he was a key member of the politically charged indie pop band McCarthy. His work is characterized by repetitive, hypnotic guitar and keyboard loops, as heard on acclaimed albums like 'Emperor Tomato Ketchup' and 'Dots and Loops'. Since Stereolab's hiatus, he has focused on his Berlin-based project Cavern of Anti-Matter.
