Biography
Italian singer-songwriter and violinist from Lombardy, a leading figure among the cantautori. 'Alla fiera dell'est' (1976) and 'La pulce d'acqua' (1977), made with lyricist Luisa Zappa, mixed medieval and folk sources with contemporary songwriting and carried him across Europe. Later work ranges from the early-music 'Futuro antico' albums to 'Il cammino dell'anima' (2019). His minstrel stage persona and fiddle playing have made him a fixture of Italian music for five decades.
