Arthur Russell
Arthur Russell was a visionary American cellist, composer, and singer who fluidly merged the worlds of the avant-garde, disco, folk, and pop. A key figure in New York's downtown scene from the mid-70s until his death, Russell collaborated with artists like *Allen Ginsberg* and *David Byrne*. He released pioneering dance tracks under aliases like Dinosaur L and Loose Joints, co-founded #Sleeping Bag Records#, and created deeply personal, genre-defying solo work. His only solo vocal studio album released in his lifetime, 'World of Echo', showcases his signature sound of ethereal vocals and processed cello. Though only achieving cult status during his life, his vast, posthumously released archive has cemented his legacy as a uniquely influential artist.
