Biography
Be-Bop Deluxe were an English art rock band formed in Wakefield in 1972 by guitarist and songwriter Bill Nelson. The classic lineup of Nelson, Charlie Tumahai, Simon Fox and Andy Clark recorded 'Futurama', 'Sunburst Finish', with the hit 'Ships in the Night', and 'Modern Music' for #Harvest Records#, before Nelson disbanded the group in 1978 after 'Drastic Plastic'. Nelson's guitar work and science-fiction-tinged songwriting made them one of British art rock's most distinctive 1970s bands.
