Bob Cranshaw

A versatile and exceptionally reliable bassist, Bob Cranshaw was best known for his nearly fifty-year association with saxophonist Sonny Rollins. He was a first-call session player for Blue Note records in the 1960s, playing on numerous classics including Lee Morgan's smash hit 'The Sidewinder.' Equally adept on both the acoustic and electric bass, his solid, impeccable groove made him an anchor of countless hard bop and soul-jazz sessions.
