Biography
Dark Fortress was a German melodic black metal band from Landshut, active from 1994 until 2023. Built around guitarist Asvargr, the band moved from the raw early albums 'Tales from Eternal Dusk' and 'Profane Genocidal Creations' toward the more progressive 'Eidolon', 'Ylem' and 'Venereal Dawn' after vocalist Morean replaced Azathoth in 2007. Guitarist and producer V. Santura shaped the sound of the later records. Dark Fortress released eight studio albums, concluding with 'Spectres from the Old World' in 2020 and a farewell tour in 2023.
