Biography
Dave Pegg is an English bassist, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, celebrated as a cornerstone of the British folk-rock scene. He is best known as the longest-serving member of Fairport Convention, which he joined in 1969, and for his 15-year tenure with the rock band Jethro Tull from 1979 to 1995. His melodic and influential bass style, which adapted traditional folk jigs and reels to the instrument, has left a significant mark. Beyond his two main bands, Pegg co-founded #Woodworm Records# and is a key organizer of Fairport's annual Cropredy Convention festival, cementing his role as both a performer and a vital custodian of the genre.
