Biography
Down is a heavy metal supergroup from New Orleans, formed in 1991 by Phil Anselmo of *Pantera*, Pepper Keenan of *Corrosion of Conformity*, Kirk Windstein and *Todd Strange* of *Crowbar* and Jimmy Bower of *Eyehategod*. Built on downtuned, Sabbath-inspired sludge and Southern blues, the band debuted with 'NOLA' (1995), followed by 'Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow' (2002) with Rex Brown on bass and 'Down III: Over the Under' (2007). After the two 'Down IV' EPs with Pat Bruders on bass, Windstein rejoined in 2019, restoring the classic guitar pairing alongside Keenan.
