E.S.T.

Biography

e.s.t., short for Esbjörn Svensson Trio, was a Swedish jazz trio formed in 1993 by pianist Esbjörn Svensson, bassist Dan Berglund and drummer Magnus Öström. The same three musicians made every e.s.t. record, from the 1993 debut 'When Everyone Has Gone' through the international breakthrough 'From Gagarin's Point of View' and later #ACT# albums such as 'Viaticum' and 'Tuesday Wonderland'. Blending jazz with classical, rock, pop and electronic elements, the trio became one of Europe's biggest jazz acts before Svensson's death in a diving accident in Stockholm in 2008 ended the group.
