Biography

Eloy are a German progressive rock band from Hanover, formed in 1969 by guitarist and singer Frank Bornemann, who remains their only constant member. After an early hard rock phase, they became leading figures of symphonic and space rock with 'Dawn' (1976), 'Ocean' (1977) and 'Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes' (1979). The band turned more commercial in the 1980s, returned to its classic style on 'Ocean 2: The Answer' (1998), and remains active, most recently releasing 'Echoes from the Past' (2023).
