Biography
Detroit rapper Esham pioneered acid rap, his term for a rock inflected horrorcore built on bleak beats and taboo lyrics. He debuted in 1989 with 'Boomin' Words From Hell' on his own #Reel Life Productions#, cofounded Natas in 1992, and issued confrontational albums including 'Judgement Day' and 'KKKill the Fetus'. A foundational influence on the Detroit rap underground, he has sustained one of the most prolific independent catalogues in hip hop.
