Fire + Ice

Biography

Fire + Ice is not a conventional band but the solo neofolk project of Ian Read, formerly of *Sol Invictus*. Since 1991 Read has made a series of albums, from 'Gilded by the Sun' and 'Rûna' to 'Birdking' and 'Fractured Man', using rotating guest musicians rather than a fixed line-up. His songs draw on early music, English folk and Northern European pagan tradition, and the project remains a reference point in the neofolk underground.
