Genesis Owusu

Genesis Owusu is a Ghanaian-Australian artist known for his eclectic, genre-defying sound that merges hip-hop, funk, punk, and soul. Born in Ghana and raised in Canberra, Australia, he gained widespread acclaim for his debut album, 'Smiling with No Teeth', released on the #Ourness# label. The album won multiple ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year. His music often explores themes of racism and mental health, personified through characters like the "black dogs." His energetic live performances, often with his backing band The Goons, and his distinctive style have made him a unique and compelling voice in contemporary music.
