Biography
Utrecht band Grey Aura, formed in 2010 by Ruben Wijlacker and Tjebbe Broek, fuse black metal with jazz, classical and folk elements inside large literary concepts. Their debut retold the Arctic voyage of *Willem Barentsz*, while 'Zwart vierkant' and its 2025 sequel 'Zwart vierkant: Slotstuk' adapt Wijlacker's novel about a painter driven toward madness by Suprematism. The result is theatrical, Dutch language avant metal of unusual scope and ambition.
