Biography
Hampton Hawes was a Los Angeles jazz pianist whose 1950s trio albums for #Contemporary Records#, including 'All Night Session!' and 'Four!', defined a blues-charged West Coast piano style. A sideman to *Charlie Parker* as a teenager, he rebuilt his career after a 1963 presidential pardon and recorded prolifically until his death in 1977.
