Biography
Hexvessel are a Finnish psychedelic folk band from Tampere, formed in 2009 by English vocalist Mat McNerney. Their forest folk sound, built on pagan tradition and nature imagery, produced 'Dawnbearer' (2011) and 'No Holier Temple' (2012) for #Svart Records#, then 'When We Are Death' (2016) and 'All Tree' (2019) for #Century Media Records#. Now a quartet of McNerney, Kimmo Helén, Jukka Rämänen and Ville Hakonen, they turned toward atmospheric black metal on 'Polar Veil' (2023) and 'Nocturne' (2025).
