Biography
Jacques Higelin (1940–2018) was a French singer-songwriter from Brou-sur-Chantereine, east of Paris, celebrated for marathon theatrical concerts and an unpredictable mix of chanson, rock and jazz. After early recordings of *Boris Vian* songs with *Brigitte Fontaine*, his solo career began with 'Jacques "Crabouif" Higelin' (1971) and peaked commercially with records such as 'BBH 75', 'Alertez les bébés!' and 'Champagne pour tout le monde', many of them released on #Saravah#. A committed left-wing performer whose songs were once blacklisted from French radio, he recorded and toured for nearly fifty years.
